Roberto is visiting the OptiML Group at Imperial College London and the LOOPS group at University College London to complete his bachelor’s thesis at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), within the College of Chemistry’s Chemical Engineering program. During his visit, his work focuses on the integration of scheduling and control using Model Predictive Control (MPC) and Reinforcement Learning (RL). Previously, he worked at the Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (ICAT) at UNAM, where he developed techniques integrating machine learning and Raman spectroscopy for the detection of breast cancer cells, as well as for the detection of nanoplastics in water and blood.
